The Resilient One | Mixed media on Silk

Inspired by ancient and indigenous tree mythologies, this piece forms part of a body of work that reimagines what tree spirits are and what they look like to encourage new ways of perceiving trees and their larger agency in an interconnected system of being.

The Resilient One consists of layered silk chiffon strips with different visual elements in mixed media. The layers form a complete image but 

The artwork is ideally installed in a tree, where the image becomes ever-shifting, steering clear of a static depiction and depending on the tree it hangs in.
